Recently, I watched Self Made, the story of Madam C.J. Walker.
It was produced by Octavia Spencer and LeBron James.
One of the things that really jumps out at you is colorism... which, as you know, is still with us today.
But far more than many of us realize.
In the video below, Chika Okoro tells us just how deep the rabbit hole goes.
It's about 10 minutes long and by the end, I think you'll be knocked back a bit by just how much it plays into what we see on the big screen and the small screen.
It's part of the construct that entraps us all.
