- Race esteem (How one feels about their race.)
- Community
The other assignment was to think about the value that you, personally, bring to the table. To give you an example of what such a list might look like, I'm pasting Bernadine Kirkland's list below.
I personally…
- Am passionate about our Black People
- Educate
- Spread joy
- Uplift
- Encourage
- Share a positive message
- Share positive images
- Narrate
- Shine the light
Remember, at the end of the day, your influence comes down to the value you're able to offer. So, meditate on your own list until it begins to seep down into your soul.
It doesn't mean everyone will miraculously recognize your value.
I can tell you that from experience! LOL.
But the most important person will.
And that's you.
Are you under the impression that ancestors like Martin Luther King, Thurgood Marshall, Nelson Mandela and Malcom X never got down or dispirited?
I can assure you that they did.
But what kept them standing strong was they never lost sight of the fact that they had something of great value.
And to keep it to themselves would be an act of selfishness and cowardice.
So, they kept on keeping on.
Think about it.
See you at the top.
